DIY costs derived from verified independent travel research across each port. Prices confirmed via direct research of local transport operators, official entry fee schedules, and published local restaurant pricing. Research conducted January–May 2026.
Ship excursion pricing
Ship prices collected from published cruise line websites for the most popular excursion category at each port. Prices recorded in March–April 2026 at time of booking window.
Markup calculation
Markup % = ((ship price − DIY price) / DIY price) × 100. Rounded to nearest whole percentage. Per-person adult pricing used throughout.
Limitations
Ship excursion prices vary by sailing date and availability. DIY costs vary by group size and timing. This report uses medians to reduce outlier influence. Individual results will vary.
