Port Bus Barcelona Cruise Ship: The Cruise Bus to La Rambla
Most cruise ships in Barcelona dock at Moll Adossat, about 3 km from La Rambla. The port's Cruise Bus (T3 Portbus) links the Adossat terminals with the World Trade Center, near the Columbus Monument, in about 10 minutes. Here is how it works.
Who needs it
- ·Moll Adossat terminals (A, B, C, D, E and the MSC terminal H): yes. Walking takes 25 minutes from Terminal A to 45 minutes from Terminal D, along an exposed breakwater road with no shade and heavy coach traffic.
- ·World Trade Center terminals (Nord and Sud), smaller ships only: no. The Columbus Monument is a 5–10 minute walk.
Price and how to pay
- ·€3.50 one way, €5 return (2026).
- ·Pay by card on board, or buy a PDF ticket online in advance.
- ·No cash. Bring a contactless card.
Frequency and journey time
The Cruise Bus runs about every 20 minutes, more often when ships arrive and leave. The ride is about 10 minutes. It serves the Moll Adossat terminals only.
Where it drops you
The town stop is beside the World Trade Center and the Torre Jaume I cable-car tower. From there:
- ·Columbus Monument and the foot of La Rambla: 400–500 m.
- ·Drassanes metro (L3, green): about 600 m, about 10 minutes on foot.
- ·Barceloneta beach: about 15 minutes on foot along Port Vell.
- ·Gothic Quarter: a short walk up from La Rambla.
What to do from La Rambla
Gothic Quarter (free to walk): medieval lanes, Roman wall fragments, Plaça Sant Jaume and Plaça Reial. The cathedral charges for tourist visits; check on the day. Allow 1.5–2 hours. Work down towards the sea so you finish near the bus stop.
La Boqueria (free to enter): the main food market, on La Rambla. Go before 11:00 if you want to eat there. Bar Pinotxo inside serves market tapas. Keep bags in front; this is the city's main pickpocketing zone.
Sagrada Família (€26, 2026, timed ticket): from Drassanes take L3 to Diagonal, then L5 two stops. About 30 minutes door to door from Drassanes. Book on the official site before you sail; peak-season slots sell out weeks ahead.
El Born (free to walk): Santa Maria del Mar, Carrer de Montcada and the Picasso Museum.
Return Cruise Bus timing
The rule: be at the Cruise Bus stop by the World Trade Center at least 75 minutes before all-aboard. On days with four or more ships the afternoon queue can add 20–30 minutes, and you still walk through the terminal and security.
| All-aboard | At the Cruise Bus stop by |
|---|---|
| 17:00 | 15:45 |
| 17:30 | 16:15 |
| 18:00 | 16:45 |
| 19:00 | 17:45 |
If the queue is long, take a taxi from the rank by the Columbus Monument: about 10 minutes to Adossat outside rush hour.
Cruise Bus vs ship excursion
Ship excursion prices vary by line, so check your cruise planner. A typical DIY Gaudí day costs about €37 per person (2026): the €5 Cruise Bus return, two metro singles at €2.90 and the €26 Sagrada Família ticket, plus lunch.
