Ship-Safe intelligence

How to get back to the cruise ship on time

The exact protocol — not generic travel advice. Built from thousands of independent cruiser timing validations.

Build backwards from all-aboard time, not forwards from disembarkation

Work out when you must be back at the port, then plan your day within that window.

Add a 90-minute safety buffer to all timing calculations

Transport delays, unexpected queues, and slow tender loading can each cost 20–30 minutes individually.

At tender ports, add another 30 minutes

Last tender often closes earlier than the official all-aboard time. Check the posted schedule on embarkation day.

Know your route back before you leave the ship

Save the bus number, platform, and station name offline. Do not rely on finding information at the port.

Have a taxi fallback plan at every port

Know the approximate taxi cost from the city centre to the terminal. This is your emergency exit.

The ship will leave without you

Cruise lines do not wait. If you miss departure, you are responsible for catching the ship at the next port — at your expense.
